29 Weeks
July 4th, 2008I received another email yesterday. It turns out I’m 29 weeks along.
I received another email yesterday. It turns out I’m 29 weeks along.
STOP. Don’t freak out. Don’t believe the hype. It’s completely untrue and unfounded, but apparently Pampers knows more about me than I do.
Last week, I started getting random email from Pampers and I’ve been dumping them into my junk mail folder. Somehow, their email still managed to get to my inbox and today I received a free disposable diaper in the mail (it was addressed to me, but I forgot to take a piccie of the address label!) and this email.
Click on the photo to see what it actually says. Apparently, I have a kid arriving soon and they’ll be sending me a newsletter once a week throughout my pregnancy. I wonder how far along I am…
Funny thing is that this email is addressed to “Linda P,” who could be either be me or my mom, but I’m 100% certain that my mom is not pregnant and can no longer have children. Anyone need diapers for their kids, or formula? I’ll pass them along if I get more stuff like this in the mail. ![]()
I’m leaving for Sin City in a few hours for a girly rendezvous. Since Jen’s here and going back to Manila on the 4th, I am taking off from work next week. I’ll be around, so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with everyone and even this blog.
Hope everyone is well!
Outta mind. I’ve been MIA for several weeks now. I’ve been busy with work and family stuff. I’m still around though. One of these days I’ll get to posting something worth reading. Until then… I’m alive!
This weekend I realized that I’ve been doing HR in the technology industry for almost a decade. That’s almost a third of my life!
I was the +1 and attended a wedding reception with a friend yesterday. It was no surprise that the bridegroom was an engineer, software engineer to be exact, since I live in the Bay Area. Because he was an engineer, a good number of his guests/friends were also engineers.
I did quite a bit of people watching and noticed what some would would call fashion faux pas.
Oddly enough, I didn’t see anyone wearing the engineer blue “dress shirt.” I guess the guys use that for the office and wear white for “special” occasions…
I wish I were taking a sabbatical from work, but it’s not the case. I’m actually taking a break from blogging. A friend invited me to a BBQ yesterday and when I got home, I got to thinking… I’m still thinking so until I sort through some things, I think it’s best that I refrain from blogging. Too many things going on in my head. I haven’t decided how long the break will/should be, but I don’t imagine it to be too long.
I was driving home. Instead of a SMS or MMS, I got the real thing. It was a phone call. Voice and all. He sounded the same. He was checking to see if I had plans for the weekend. I thought I was going down to HB, but plans quickly changed when Dad’s friends decided to stay at our place. For the first time in over a decade, I’ll be here for Memorial Day.
I’m sure he was fishing for something. He wants to hang out. I think not. How many chances? Zero.
Last week a strange thing happened. An ex-BF pinged me out of nowhere. I was on my way out the door so I didn’t really have the chance to chat, but the message basically said, “Hey, I’m pinging you to let you know that my wife and I split up. Are you dating anyone?” Then he proceeded to send me an MMS.
Sometimes it’s better not to open old chapters in your life… I’m not up for any of the BS.
BF = Boyfriend
MMS = Multimedia Messaging Service
BS = Birthday Suit or Bull $#!T?
Meet Teddy. A couple of weeks ago, I dogsat for a friend who was out-of-town. It was a hectic weekend with Mom and Dad preparing for their trip to Manila, but it was the perfect time to dogsit since I wasn’t planning on going anywhere; I basically stayed home all weekend.
I brought Teddy home on Friday night and on the trip home, I got a taste of how needy he was. I figured I was the most familiar thing to him in my car, given that he had never been in there before. He insisted on trying to sit on my lap while I was driving, but I had to keep putting him on the passenger seat because driving with him on my lap was no easy feat, especially when it came to shifting gears.
His arrival was pretty uneventful since Koki was used to having random dogs in the house, but Koki failed to realize that Teddy would be following me everywhere. Both pups slept in my room that night, but Teddy got a bit whiny in the middle of the night and woke me up. I had less than three hours of sleep when Teddy woke me up and I decided to feed him and Koki at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. After feeding them breakfast, I decided to go back to bed and left both of the pups outside, which isn’t usually a big deal for Koki. I should’ve been more careful.
When I finally rolled out of bed, Dad told me that Teddy had eaten the cupcakes that Joyce and Jaylene made me off the dining table… Three cupcakes! Teddy is a little jumper!
Later on that afternoon, I slipped into the restroom before our afternoon walk and when I walked out of the bathroom, it smelled like something caught fire. I found the smell near the dining table, but didn’t see any food left on the table. I did, however, find the butter dish completely empty.
When I called Koki and Teddy to prepare them for their walk, Teddy wouldn’t come. I found Teddy hiding by my dad in the family room, while Dad was taking a nap. I grabbed hold of Teddy and realized that he smelled like fire. His fur caught on fire because he jumped on the dining table and ate the butter! I’ve never heard of a dog liking butter, but what was I thinking? This is the same pup who loves Cheetos and steals your coffee!
Overall, dogsitting was a piece o’ (cup)cake. I also brought Teddy and Koki to work, which wasn’t at all a big deal. In fact, I found a new wrist rest in Teddy, who kept wanting to jump on my lap while I was working.
Now I know what a lapdog really is! Until next time, Teddy!
